What's the big deal with carpet cleaning? A little water, A little soap, vacuum it up and you have clean carpet. Right? Wrong? Soap is the problem. Can you imagine Washing your car without rinsing the soap off? The soap would leave a sticky residue that would actually attract dirt. Now, imagine the film left in your carpet, making it Stiff or Sticky and attracting dirt faster.
Water damage can occur for a number of reasons. Flooding can be caused by weather or by cracked or broken pipes as well as other water leaks in or around the home. Alternatively, they can be caused as a result of a fire, having been used as the primary means of extinguishing the fire and preventing total loss of your property and everything in it. However water damage does occur, though, the results can be emotionally devastating. Not only can it lead to damage of the building you live in but it could spell disaster for electrical equipment, furniture, and documents and media around the home.
Mold needs both water and an organic food source in order to grow and thrive. Given both of these elements, fungi spores are produced and these can then be spread via various means including through accidental knocking or brushing of the mold. Furthermore, mold spores have been found to encourage and exacerbate particular health problems with the young and old the most likely to suffer typical symptoms. These symptoms include but are not necessarily limited to sneezing, headaches, sore throats, rashes, allergic reactions, and even respiratory problems.
Even the smallest fire can have a massive impact on a home or office and while the fire itself is obviously very damaging, so too are the smoke and soot, as well as water and other materials used to extinguish the fire. Once the fire has been extinguished the damage can continue thanks to the chloride that is found in smoke. Even once the smoke has been extracted from the property, the residue that is left behind is highly corrosive especially to electrical and electronic components. Careful removal of the residue left behind by the smoke and soot can help prolong the life of electrical goods.
Getting your carpets clean may seam like a task that will never be completed! Steamatic can definitely help with that.
Soap and water just doesn't work. At least not for long, it may clean up a spill, or some dirt for a while. It is actually better if you do not use “Soap.” Just think of this, can you imagine washing your car without rinsing off the soap properly? That sticky residue sits there attracting dirt, and grime. That is basically the same effect that you get when you “Soap” your carpet. You cannot get that soap residue off, and it will make your carpet stiff, and sticky and will attract dirt even faster than before.
Our patented Hot Water Extraction System utilizes super heated water and a water softener to remove dirt and bacteria without soap or harsh chemicals. Here is the thing we just don’t need it. Our super heated water breaks up dirt and grease automatically. We don’t need to use harsh soaps, or chemicals that will damage the fibers of your carpet, or over wet your carpet. Steamatics proprietary recirculating system keep the water clean, and the hot water will continue moving from tank to want so it will not have a moment to cool down sitting in the line. Our Powerful vacuums will then extract the dirty water from your carpets leaving them clean and odor free.
Your Carpet is an investment. It is also one of the first things people will notice when walking into your home. First impressions go a long way. If you take care of your carpets properly they will continue looking great for as long as possible.
What Can I do to keep my carpet clean between professional Cleanings?
Vacuum weekly (more often when you have little ones, or “High” traffic.) to remove abrasive particles that can damage your carpets fibers.
We recommend a minimum of twice per year. That will keep your carpets to look their best. It will also prolong the life of your carpet.
We don’t just do carpets, oriental and area rugs can be picked up from your home and cleaned in our facility. We will use the very same hot-water extraction method that we use for your carpets. Steamatic will then return your rugs to your clean, dry and fresh.
If you have to “Spot” clean between visits here are some helpful tips:
Creating a Solution:
Detergent Solution --One teaspoonful of a colorless, mild detergent in one cup of lukewarm water.
Ammonia Solution --One tablespoon of clear household ammonia in one-half cup of water.
Vinegar Solution --One-third cup of white household vinegar in two-thirds cup of water.
P/V Remover --Paint, varnish or grease remover available in most hardware stores. (*Use sparingly and DO NOT pour directly onto fabric or fibers. P/V Remover can dissolve the glue that holds the layers of carpet together resulting in delamination and a possible bubbling of the carpet.)
